While leafing through some of my vintage books and magazines (1930's), I came across the CUTEST ads and images that I knew would fit well at our lake house! The ads for fishing rods, lures, boats, motors and gear were just too fabulous to pass up. So...book blocks it was. All images have been laminated and adhered to wooden blocks that have been painted black and "roughed up" a bit in order to mimic the age of the images themselves. Each block also has a black screw eye fixed to the top with a bit of ribbon for embellishment. You can also hang these book blocks on a wall. As you might imagine, these vintage blocks are all around our lake house...on the mantle of the fireplace on the porch (not worried about them breaking, if one should fall after a big gust of wind), the windowsill, and on a few of the shelves! Zoom in on the pics to check out the detail!
The images shown feature a few items that are part of my collection (ie plaid thermos, spools, etc). Those items are not for sale! Ha. I'll hang on to those items! The pictures of books blocks on display are just to give you ideas. :)
